Our goal: to be the heart of every town we serve.
Our thoughts are with our friends, associates and guests who were affected by Hurricane Harvey. The heartbreaking images from southeast Texas have been difficult to process, yet in the wake of these devastating floods, we're inspired by how our neighbors came together to help one another.
We've never been more proud to be a member of these communities, and we're honored to lend a helping hand in this time of need.
In that spirit, we've raised over $1,200,000 to help with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
Portions of the funds will go to associates impacted by the storms. Area stores will make merchandise donations to flood victims across southeast Texas. In addition, we will be making a matched cash contribution to the American Red Cross.
How you can help - Make an in-store donation to the American Red Cross, and we will match it dollar for dollar, up to a total of $50,000. Stop by any of our 850 Stage family stores - including Bealls, Goody's, Gordmans, Palais Royal, Peebles or Stage.
Several teams of Stage associates volunteered around the Houston area, partnering with the American Red Cross to help those impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Associates delivered supplies around the city, sorted and packed care boxes, manned the telethon phone bank to just name a few. Houstonians truly came together to show how strong the city is during such devastation.
Stage associates rocking the Kids' Meals kitchen preparing lunches and getting it done in record time! Stage helped feed 4,500 children on this day.
The 2017 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is another one for the record books. Over 10,000 people turned the Bayfront pink, helping to raise well over a quarter-million dollars in the fight against breast cancer. Every dollar raised through the Making Strides walk is used to help the American Cancer Society provide those free services and support breast cancer research.
The Bealls stores in the Corpus Christi area teamed up again this year to support this wonderful cause. The team proudly raised $15,543 to raise awareness and funds to save lives from breast cancer. From the opening ceremony to the post-walk entertainment, this Making Strides event is a celebration of survivors and opportunity to remember loved-ones lost. It's a day that shouldn't be missed and won't be forgotten.
